Head on over to the PledgeMusic Blog for a great interview from Matt, Jorgen and T-Bone on the history of POA. Of course, while you’re there, you can be a part of POA history by making a donation towards the production of their second album, and pick yourself up a great (and unique) piece of POA schwag as a reward! 🙂
Greetings Earth –
We’re about 40% of the way to Mission #2 – help us reach Planet Abts!
-Matt, Jorgen & T-Bone
Greetings visitors from other planets. This is your space captain >Matt Abts from “Planet of the Abts,: POA; your crew members are Jorgen Carlsson and T-Bone Andersson! We are fueling up and preparing to launch the second mission, delivering new music to all unsuspecting life forms in a galaxy near you, with YOU!
Many of you know that POA took its maiden voyage in 2012, debuting on planet Earth to critical mass hysteria in North America, South America, and Europe. The release was done under secretive wraps, as to not expose humanity to any life threatening danger. However, Mission 2 is going to release vital information, giving you a backstage pass into Rogers Boat Studio operations. We offer you a personal opportunity to experience the recording process in real time, as the music is being created, offering a glimpse into the interstellar creative thought process of POA — with a dose of just plain good ole monkey business. That’s what monkey men do.
POA would like to extend this opportunity to you, our music mission heads, to help us reach our goals, making you be a key part of this voyage by pledging whatever you feel. Your pledge will come back to you two-fold, three- fold ’cause GAWD is going to heal your pocket, GAWD is going to heal your mind, GAWD is going to put YOU, the pledger, on board the new POA Mission 2. Album title and art work are TOP SECRET…you will be the first to see it.
Take a look around our PledgeMusic page to learn and separate your body from your mind and make this dream mission possible.
Peace and love,
Matt, Jorgen and T-Bone

This promises to be a night in “Rock Heaven!”
With over 1.5 million downloads, the Grammy-nominated rock band Gov’t Mule is legendary, and now two of its members have formed a new adventure: Planet of the Abts (POA). Each player is highly-accredited in his own right, POA combines three powerful and extraordinary musicians: Gov’t Mule’s renowned drummer Matt Abts and bassist Jorgen Carlsson joined forces with Swedish guitarist/keyboardist/vocalist T-Bone Andersson. Sonically lush, Pink Floydish shimmering soundscapes to full-throttle rock and roll that combines the raw power of the Stooges with Electric Ladyland musicianship, POA’s studio recordings take the listener on a musical journey with stellar production by co-producer Stephen Holroyd and a special appearance by Gov’t Mule band mate Danny Louis on “Planet of the Abts Part 1.” The band’s live shows have ranged from Mt. Jam, sweeping the South-East US & California, Sweden, and are headed to Poland late August, and Brazil in 2013. POA has proven that they sound just as powerful and multi-layered in the flesh as they do on their record! They look forward to sharing this special musical night with the Paper Robots. Enjoy “Anything You Want It To Be” from their debut album (right-click the link and select “Save File As”).
PAPER ROBOTS is the brain child of award winning Israeli guitarist Zak Soulam (Trans Siberian Orchestra, Suzanne Vega), along with his partner, bassist Mike Visceglia (Suzanne Vega, Jorma Kaukonen, Dar Williams), Zak and Mike joined forces with drummer Anton Fig (Kiss,Jagger, Spider, CBS Orchestra/Letterman etc.) assembling a team of A-list players for this show including Tabitha Fair, Jamaican rapper ‘Hawk,’ & special guests Bennett Paster on keys and Hendrick Helmer on guitar. The sound of the band has been compared to Jeff Beck meets Queen meets Pink Floyd- with a world music touch. This is Paper Robots first appearance at the Bowery Ballroom, opening for the fantastic band “POA.” Enjoy “Sunny Slide Up” an instrumental track from the forth coming album (right-click the link and select “Save File As”).
